Karavostasis, the island’s port, is located at the east and is the first settlement you see when you reach Folegandros. During the summer itpulses with life, whereas in winter there is only a handful of permanent residents.
What to do in Karavostasis?
The route to famous beach Katergo starts here if you choose to visit it by boat. From Karavostasis also sets sail (only on specified days) the renowned “tour of the island”.
Karavostasis is also known for the beaches located around it. The first one is Cochlidia, the natural end of the port, which thanks to the many tamarisk trees it has is a family-favorite destination. Moreover, in 5 min distance you can find Vardia another famous beach of the island. In the opposite direction to Karavostasison the way to Livadi, you can find the beaches Latinaki, Pountaki and Vitsentzou, also very popular destinations amongst the visitors.
